Michael Markarian

Michael Markarian is an Advanced Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. He previously lived and studied in Italy, and earned the Italian Wine Ambassador certification from Vinitaly International Academy. He is currently the beverage director at Michelin-starred Oyster Oyster in Washington, D.C., and has previously served as sommelier and beverage director at restaurants including Elizabeth’s, Chez Billy Sud, Cafe Colline, and Parc de Ville. He is also a freelance writer of wine education content for the GuildSomm International website (GuildSomm.com).
